Images à la Sauvette (Images On the Run).
May 9, 2015 to June 6, 2015
Bloomingdale Park District Museum
Artist's Reception May 17, 2015 2:00 to 4:00 PM
In this exhibit, the fotoMuses pay homage to the great Henri Cartier-Bresson using the original title of a collection of his photographs, Images à la Sauvette (Images On the Run). As photographers, we are well aware of “the Decisive Moment” as it applies to his work. In an article published on April 1, 2014 by fotographia, we learn that The Decisive Moment was the English title of Cartier-Bresson's work, cited above and published in 1952 in France. The fotoMuses are pleased and excited to pay homage to one of the great 20th Century masters of photography.
In September of 2014, the fotoMuses lost dear friend and member, Jackye Revely. Jackye was a wonderful artist and creative inspiration to our group of talented women. She was also a member of the Bloomingdale Artists Association. In May 2015, the fotoMuses will dedicate the entry wall of the Park District Museum to Jackye. We will feature a selection of her art, not to mourn her, but celebrate her life and unique creativity. This is also fitting because Jackye was the creative force in designing and executing most of our past entry wall designs.
